September Vacation in the Mountains

We took a few days to camp up at Pisgah and do some hiking. Visited the Cradle of Forestry since it was a free day and had a great time. As always, had a great time photographing the boys. Here were some of my favorites.

The Joy of Play

I was walking by and saw the boys playing intently at their sand table. I quickly grabbed the camera and snagged a few pictures. So thankful to live in the country with two little country boys. God is good!

My Family Blog Update

I am checking back in after having allowed this blog to become stagnant for sometime.  I plan to begin catching up on this blog by bringing you up to speed on some of the events of our life over the last year.  Then I hope to keep things up a little better.  I enjoy sharing and of course photography is a large passion of mine.   Soon I hope to get my photoblog back up and running and program it to share a new photo each day.  Another passion of mine is my calling to be a minister.  I have a blog dedicated to faith called “Just Thinking . . .”  that I post to usually weekly.  Finally, Jamie’s memorial page will be back up in the coming weeks after I reorgnize it.  Jamie was my twin and I am comforted by keeping his memory alive.  Well, I guess that’s all for now.

Jason’s 3rd Birthday!

We celebrated Jason’s birthday over the weekend with family and friends. We have been so blessed with two healthy little boys and as I reflect on Jason’s life thus far, I am amazed by how fast he’s growing but touched by each milestone. The more time passes, the more helpless I realize I am to this unstoppable force called time. I wouldn’t want him to stop growing and developing for one moment but I guess the passage of time is what gives added beauty to each moment we share. It requires one to savor what they have for each moment is unique and special because of the progress of time. I am thankful for the moments God gives us. Click here to see pictures.

Jordan’s 1st Birthday & Haircut

Yes, he had his first haircut on his first birthday. Sabbath we celebrated with lunch and dirt cake and then after visiting opened some presents and went for a walk. After putting the kids down we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit by the stream. Then Sunday morning we enjoyed a pancake breakfast out in the front yard with the boys and family. After breakfast, Jordan got his haircut.
It is hard to believe that Jordan is already one. He still has no teeth and doesn’t talk but he has managed a step or two. We are so thankful that God has blessed us with two healthy boys. I am thankful for the uniqueness of each. Here are some pics from the weekend. bday087

12 Years of Marriage

We celebrated 12 years of marriage on Monday evening. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been married that long. We celebrated in the front yard by the stream. We roasted hot dogs and included the boys in the fun. Having grown up together, it’s hard to remember life with out Tina. But I am thankful that I have been able to spend so many years with her and I look forward to what the future holds in store for us. Having boys has added a whole new dimension to our life that we never could have imagined. We are thankful for the nearly 10 years of marriage we enjoyed just the 2 of us but after waiting to have children, we are now ready and are enjoying it immensely. God has blessed us in so many ways and we praise Him for bringing our paths together so that we might journey through life hand in hand. Here are some pictures form our evening festivities.

Chef Jordan

We took pictures of Jason at 8 months in the stock pot with all the vegetables like we have here. We intended to do the same with Jordan but didn’t make it in time due in part to the move. But after moving in and setting the lights and backdrop back up, we bought some fresh veggies and finally captured some pictures. Jordan is 9 months and roughly one week in these pictures. Hope you enjoy them. I would like to take some more but haven’t done so yet. Click on the image below to view the gallery.

Summer Memories

We spent the Sabbath afternoon at home pulling the boys around in the wagon. They enjoyed riding around and while parked amidst some daisies, I was able to capture this moment. Indeed, it was a special moment. It makes me realize how special these days are with our boys at this tender age. Such a gift from God. Time slips by too quickly it seems. They grow so fast. Dollywood

On Sunday, May 31st, we enjoyed a visit to Dollywood with the boys. Mom & Dad had some free tickets and so we were able to enjoy the day with them at the park. Jason & Jordan seemed to enjoy the day and Jason particularly liked the “choo chooo.” Here are a few picks from the day. Click on the image to see them.

Biltmore Visit

We were fortunate to receive some free tickets for the Biltmore house in Asheville. The tickets expired on March 31st so we visited on March 30. We both have been there a couple of times before but enjoyed it as this was Jordan’s first visit. Not sure he will remember any of it but was fun taking pictures to memorialize the occasion. Something that struck me as interesting is that Mr. Vanderbilt used to read two books a week. He read all sort of material which helped him in being a well rounded person. As you reflect on many of the successful men and women of history, most seemed to have been prolific readers. Indeed, I find this inspiring. Here are some pictures of our visit.
